Hi, I’m Matthew Jakovlevic.

This practice is a reflection of what I believe great healthcare should be—personal, evidence-informed, and focused on long-term results. Every patient is treated with genuine care, clear communication, and a commitment to helping them move, feel, and perform at their best. It’s not just about treating symptoms; it’s about creating meaningful change through quality care and a collaborative approach.

My Approach

Every treatment is guided by experience, evidence, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is more than just relieving pain — it’s about understanding why your body has become irritated, stiff or overloaded in the first place. Every treatment is tailored to the individual, combining hands-on osteopathic techniques with a strong understanding of biomechanics, movement and modern pain science.

Treatment may include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation and movement-based techniques designed to reduce pain, restore mobility and help your body move more freely again. Whether you are dealing with acute back pain, neck stiffness, headaches, shoulder issues or long-standing chronic pain, the goal is not simply temporary relief, but meaningful and lasting improvement.

Dry Needling

Dry needling can be an effective treatment option used to reduce muscle tension, improve movement and calm irritated or overactive tissues. I integrate dry needling into a broader treatment plan rather than used as a standalone fix. Needling is combined with hands-on therapy, movement rehabilitation and practical advice to create a more complete and sustainable recovery process.

Rehabilitation

Successful recovery does not stop when the pain settles. Rehabilitation is a key part of creating long-term change and reducing the likelihood of injuries returning again and again.

I design rehabilitation programs are designed to fit real life. Exercises are selected carefully to improve strength, mobility, control and confidence without overwhelming busy schedules. The focus is on finding the smallest amount of exercise needed to create meaningful progress — practical, achievable and sustainable.

Drawing from osteopathy, clinical pilates principles and modern rehabilitation approaches, programs are tailored specifically to your goals, lifestyle and current capacity. Whether you are recovering from an injury, returning to exercise, managing persistent pain or wanting to move better, rehabilitation is designed to help bridge the gap between treatment and full function.

Running & Hiking Injuries / Prevention

Running and hiking place unique demands on the body. Repetitive loading, training errors, footwear changes, terrain and recovery all influence how well the body tolerates movement over time. I have a particular interest in helping runners, hikers and endurance athletes stay active, recover from injury and continue doing what they love.

Treatment combines hands-on therapy with a detailed understanding of training loads, movement mechanics and rehabilitation. Common presentations include knee pain, achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, hip pain, lower back pain and overuse injuries associated with increasing mileage or returning from time away.

Having extensive personal experience in trail running and long-distance hiking allows for a practical understanding of the physical and mental demands involved in endurance pursuits. Advice is realistic, evidence-informed and tailored to your goals — whether you are preparing for your first trail race, training for an ultramarathon or wanting to enjoy pain-free walks again.

Orofacial Myology (Coming July 2026)

Orofacial Myology focuses on the function of the muscles of the face, jaw, tongue and airway, and how these can influence breathing patterns, jaw pain, headaches, sleep quality, posture and overall function.

This additional training complements the osteopathic approach particularly well, especially when working with:

  • Jaw pain and TMJ dysfunction

  • Headaches and neck tension

  • Mouth breathing patterns

  • Sleep-related concerns

  • Persistent facial or neck discomfort
